This Mosin variation is owned by "GoShoot" of Gunboards.com who
provided the pictures and was kind enough to allow their use here. Little is known
about this firearm which was described by the previous owner as a shotgun conversion done
in the Balkans. The receiver is a 1945 Izhevsk and the barrel is 23 1/2" long.
This is 3 1/4" longer than a typical Mosin carbine and 5 1/4" shorter
than an M91/30. The barrel is tapered with a smooth bore and 2" long chamber.
The stock is a typical war time M44 and the overall length is 43 1/4".
The bolt face is unmodified and the standard magazine has been removed converting it to
single shot. A pull through cleaning kit is stored in the usual follower
location. No rear sights are present and the handguard is a typical M44 type.
The receiver has been scrubbed and remarked with a circle containing "TFI 6
TI" and a serial number. The barrel and bolt are marked with a matching serial
number.
There is no evidence of a rear sight base on the barrel. The stock fittings are
typical M44 type.
There is a brass bead front sight.
The trigger guard appears to be a modified standard type with a fixed floorplate.
The floorplate is marked twice with a matching serial number and the underside of the
wrist has the same mark as the barrel shank.
